Abstract

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of intermittent phototherapy combined with triple therapy and pediatric Tuina massage in the treatment of neonatal jaundice.

Methodology: This was a retrospective study. A total of 82 jaundiced neonates, admitted to Hebei Reproductive Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital between December 2024 to December 2025, were enrolled to assess the clinical efficacy of the treatment regimen and investigate its impact on total bilirubin(TBIL), carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199), C-reactive protein(CRP), and apolipoprotein M(ApoM).

Results: The overall response rate in the treatment group was 92.68%, significantly higher than the 75.61% of the control group(P< 0.05). After treatment, the levels of TBIL, CA199, CRP, and ApoM in both groups were significantly lower than pre-treatment levels(P< 0.05, respectively). Notably, the treatment group showed more pronounced reductions in all biomarkers compared with the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P< 0.05). The duration of jaundice(DoJ) and length of hospital stay(LoHS) in the treatment group were significantly shorter than in the control group(both P< 0.05). The adverse reaction rate in the treatment group was 9.76%, significantly lower than the 26.83% in the control group(P< 0.05). Furthermore, the family satisfaction rate in the treatment group was 95.12%, significantly higher than the 80.49% in the control group(P< 0.05).

Conclusion: Intermittent phototherapy combined with triple therapy and pediatric Tuina massage appears to be an effective treatment for neonatal jaundice, significantly improving clinical outcomes. This approach offers a more scientifically grounded and effective treatment protocol for neonatal jaundice management.
